                                            Nursing Home Shows 2010

         Dear dance parents and students,

Each spring we offer the opportunity for dancers to perform at local nursing homes. It's a

win - win situation for all of us. The dancers get to practice in front of a new audience and gain performance experience. The nursing home residents have a chance to relate to the young people and to reminisce about their children or their own childhood. It's amazing to see how many memories the music and dancing seem to stir.

The shows are completely voluntary. No one is required to go. However, it is an excellent opportunity to practice for the recital. Usually the dancers who perform at several nursing homes are the most self confident during the recital, so everyone is encouraged to participate.

Here are some guidelines about the shows:

1. You may sign up for 1or 2 performance dates, either during your class, by leaving a

message at the Studio at 791-6252 or e-mail at cfergdance@fuse.net.

Dance Company members are required to sign up for at least 2 dates.

Shows are limited to 20 students in each. If there are still openings after March 24, you may

sign up to be in more shows. Remember the more you practice before the show and recital,

the more relaxed  and happy you will be during the performances.

2. If you sign up on days with 2 shows, you must be in both shows.

3. If you sign up. BE THERE and BE ON TIME!

4. Wear your costume to the show, there isn't enough room for everyone to change at the nursing home.

5. The shows are 30 - 45 Mins. Please stay during the show so you will be there to take your child home.

6. The shows are intended for the residents of the nursing homes, in most cases there is not enough space for the person driving the dancer to watch the show. However, drivers are expected to remain on the premises.
